This article also fails to account for the fact that the NS-1 could be turned back on with a switch-if the sanctions were lifted- immediately supplying natural gas to Europe to heat homes and supply energy during the impending winter. German citizens were beginning to pressure their govt to negotiate to get that gas flowing in NS-1 but the US and UK have been applying strong pressure to stop that. This explosion served to stop that possibility. This article was very one sided and not balanced
With winter just a few months away and a large part of Germany's population looking at the possibility of no heat, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see that the German government will be under a lot of pressure to do business with Putin, putting Biden's coalition sanctioning Russian energy in jeopardy.
By blowing up the pipeline the door is slammed on any chance the Germans will be able to access Russian energy this winter, preserving Biden's pressure on the Russians.
As far as destabilizing NATO, Putin doing business with Europe is a bigger threat than shutting off their supply of natural gas. Blowing up Nordstream makes so much sense for American foreign policy it's almost impossible to believe that Biden's clown show thought to do it.
