Moving money offshore is not in or of itself illegal. There are legitimate reasons why some people do it. Not everyone named in the Pandora papers is suspected of wrongdoing. In fact it is likely that over 90% of people are not guilty of anything other than protecting their hard-earned wealth from the prying eyes of corrupt politicians and even more corrupt law enforcement. Guilty of banking. Those who are may stand accused of a wide range of misbehavior.

Ukrainians and Russians are connected to families in each other's nations - and with friends as well as business affairs. It is not uncommon for a star, not just in Ukraine, to negotiate, in lieu of a salary, a percentage of the revenue. The Pandora stash so far only spews suspicion, and tries to make tenacious connections to the far flung businesses of people who maybe financed the TV series or other ventures in which Zelinskyy did not participate, but people he shook hands with did. Sort of like Donald Trump Jr shook hands with Russians at Trump Tower.

Pandora is a far cry from having successfully made Zelenskyy into an oligarch or a partner in crime, or one guilty of other's crimes. Or even proving he is wealthy. The existence of an offshore account proves nothing. There's a saying in a court of law: Innocent until proven guilty. So far there's not a single piece of evidence to even remotely connect the president of Ukraine to corruption. In fact, all the facts so far suggest otherwise.

Chances are however, there is plenty of evidence that your president, and potentially your own business partners and family, are corrupt. Those who cast the first stone...
